Our Story

Moisture Freak is a natural skincare brand proudly rooted in eastern North Carolina. Founded by husband-and-wife team Jay and Pepper, both retired U.S. Air Force veterans. After years of service, we longed for a fresh start — something that allowed us to express creativity, build community, and help people feel their absolute best. Out of that vision, Moisture Freak was born.

What began as a small, fun side hustle in North Carolina truly came to life after our family relocated to Huntsville, Alabama. At the time, both of us were still working demanding corporate jobs, but we knew we wanted more — not just for ourselves, but for our kids. We wanted them to see us doing something we loved, chasing our own dreams, and not giving up on what mattered to us.

The move gave us a sense of renewal — a fresh start for our family and our vision. It was here in Huntsville that we committed to building Moisture Freak into something bigger: a brand dedicated to helping people love the skin they’re in, while showing our kids that passion, faith, and persistence can build something meaningful.   

After retiring from the Air Force, we stepped into the corporate world but quickly realized it wasn’t enough to truly fulfill us. Deep down, we wanted to pour our energy into something more creative, trustworthy, and people-centered. That’s when we began building Moisture Freak — spending long nights and weekends crafting formulas, testing ideas, and shaping skincare that feels simple, enjoyable, and effective, but most of all building something that we could truly call our own.

Every batch is handcrafted in small quantities and infused with recognizable ingredients with carefully balanced formulas to deliver products that:

Behind The Name

Finding the right name wasn’t easy. From the beginning, we knew it had to reflect our core mission: putting hydration at the heart of everything we create. After weeks of searching, nothing felt right — until one night, Pepper prayed for clarity. In the middle of sleep, the words Moisture Freak came to her like a whisper: simple, bold, unforgettable. She woke up knowing instantly it was the one.
